Day 01 - Cochin - Thekkady ( Periyar)
Arrive Cochin pick up from Air port/Railway station. Travel to Thekkady (Periyar). And halt at hotel.
Day 02 - Thekkady - Periyar
After break fast spice plantation visiting, boating at Periyar Lake, halt at cottage. Boating at Periyar Lake The Periyar Lake formed by the construction of the dam across the Mullaperiyar River in 1895, the lake harbors within itself a unique aquatic ecosystem. The numerous little islets in the lake are witness to the intricate inherent interrelationship among the terrestrial aquatic and subterranean life forms. A boat cruise on the Lake is perhaps the best way to watch the wildlife in the reserve.
Day 03 - Thekkady - periyar Tiger Reserve
Bamboo rafting 8am to 5pm, evening Aurvedic full body massage Halt at cottage. Bamboo Rafting This is a dawn to dusk range hiking and rafting programme through some of the richest forest tracts of Periyar Tiger Reserve. Starting at 8 am from the boat landing, a mosaic of habitats will be traversed before the party gets into rafts made of bamboos. The forests are rich in bird life and arboreal animals like giant squirrel and Nilgiri langur. The rafting is for about three hours and one gets a panoramic view of forest-clad hills reflected on the lake. Animals like elephant, gaur and sambar are sighted keeping close to the edges of the lake. The team hitchhikes back to the boat landing by about 5 pm. An armed guard and 4 guides will accompany . Tea, snacks and packed lunch will be served enroute.
Day 04 - Thekkady - Gavi (Jungle Safari)
After breakfast, Jungle safari by Jeep 40 km to Gavi over night stay at Green mansion forest guest house. Gavi Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the richest tracts in Western Ghats rain forests. At a distance of 40 Km from Periyar sanctuary (Thekkady), there lies an Eco-System named GAVI with luxuriant forest, grassland and wild animals. Pampa Reservoir and a large tract of reserved forests fringe GAVI. There is a wide range of animals in Periyar Sanctuary such as Elephant, Sambar deer, Barking deer, Mouse deer, Bonnet macaque, Lion tailed macaque etc. The chief predators are Tiger, Panther and Wild dogs. The Reserve also supports a wide variety of birds and insects.
Day 05 - Gavi - Cochin
After breakfast proceeds to Cochin ,drop at Cochin Airport/railway Station.
